Service Overview:

A Certificate of Tax Residency confirms that an individual is a tax resident of Estonia, meaning they declare their worldwide income in Estonia.

Estonia has signed multiple double taxation avoidance agreements with other countries. To benefit from these agreements, such as tax reductions or exemptions in foreign countries, Estonian residents must submit a Certificate of Tax Residency issued by the Estonian Tax and Customs Board to the relevant foreign authority.

Key details about the certificate:

It can be issued for a specific date, a chosen period, or an entire year.
The start date can align with the beginning of tax residency or specific requirements, but the end date cannot be later than the date of issue. Alternatively, the certificate can be issued without an end date.
The certificate reflects the individual’s residency status for the selected period.
It is issued in Estonian and cannot be prepared for future periods.

This service ensures compliance with international tax regulations and enables smooth access to tax benefits abroad.
