class='ewd-ufaq-post-margin ewd-ufaq-faq-post'>\n\t<h4 dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Apostille proves the authenticity.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"24\" data-end=\"405\">An <strong data-start=\"27\" data-end=\"40\">apostille<\/strong> is an internationally recognised certificate\u2014attached to a public document\u2014that confirms the authenticity of the signer, seal, and capacity in which the document was issued. It allows the document to be accepted in any other state that has joined the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention (you can check the current list of member countries on the convention\u2019s website).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"407\" data-end=\"605\">In Estonia, only <strong data-start=\"424\" data-end=\"443\">public notaries<\/strong> may issue a public document. Because the same notary cannot both notarise a document <em data-start=\"529\" data-end=\"534\">and<\/em> apostille it, the process normally involves <strong data-start=\"579\" data-end=\"604\">two separate notaries<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"752\">\n<li data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"670\">\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"670\">Notary A notarises or authenticates the original document.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"752\">\n<p data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"752\">Notary B adds the apostille that certifies Notary A\u2019s authority and signature.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"992\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">After notarisation and apostilling, the document is usually translated by a sworn <em>and<\/em> recognised abroad, it must meet three basic requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Notarial form<\/strong> \u2013 The PoA must be signed before a notary (in
